I've been trying to learn Yoruba for a few days for a friend in Nigeria. What are some important or essential phrases or words I should know? How are people greeted?

firstly, you should know that Yorùbá is a tonal language with the "Do, Re, Mi" tone mark. When you want to greet a friend "good morning" you say "káàárọ̀" ("Mi Do Mi Do" tone mark).

Good evening --- Kuu irole /Kaale
Good night ---- Odaaro
How are you ---- Bawo ni
Good bye --- Odabo

Good evening - Ekale
Good night - Odaaro
