Can you help me to fill a gap in a textbook?
Hi there. A friend of mine has a task in his textbook to fill a gap in a sentence, using verb +out. He struggle to fill a gap in a sentence; "Sometimes it _________ cheaper to eat in a restaurant , than to cook at home".
He and I decided that there just should to put 'is", because any verbs there sound unnatural.

If you need a phrasal verb with "out", you could use "works out" or "comes out", for example.
