How can I say 추모의 물결이 일다(wave of memorial?) in English?
When any famous person who has good reputation passed away, a lot of people feel sympathy and send prayers. In this situation, can I say 'there's a big wave of memorial/mourning in the society '? I translated a Korean expression, Is there any similar expression or proper translation in English?

Use 'mourning'. "There is a big wave of mourning in the country". Memorial is an object, like a statue or something more abstract like a speech or a moment of silence. Mourning is something you do.
I was mourning for several days.
