Questions about Bahrain's National Anthem: بحريننا I have been reading and learning about the National Anthems of the Arab countries. In looking at various sites talking about Bahrain's Anthem, I am finding conflicting information. Perhaps, someone from Bahrain or someone who has lived/traveled/worked there might be able to clarify. Some sources say that Colonel Mohammed Suqdi Ayyash wrote the lyrics in 1971 and those were used until 2002 and in 2002, the lyrics were slightly changed because of the switch from an Emirate to a kingdom. Another source says that the Anthem was adopted in 1942 possibly just instrumental (no words). In 1972, it was lengthened and it was decided that it should be played twice. Then in 1985, Colonel Mohammed Suqdi Ayyash added the lyrics. Did Mohammed Suqdi Ayyash write the lyrics in 1971 or 1985? The wikipedia site written in Arabic about the Anthem credits Yousef Attia Areemawi يوسف عطية الريماوي as the composer, but no other sources that I could find mention him. Most sources list the composer as unknown. Is Yousef Attia Areemawi actually the composer of the music for the Anthem or is the composer unknown? Are both versions of the Anthem (the older and the newer versions) called "بحريننا" or is the first called السلام الوطني and the newer version is called السلام الملكي or maybe each version has 2 names? Thanks so much! Any info is helpful. :)
