Take revange ON / AGAINST someone (Which preposition is correct?)
I would like to know which preposition I should use when talking about "to take revenge."
Form 1: to take revenge ON someone
Form 2: to take revenge AGAINST someone

If they both are correct, is there any difference in meaning?

Example:
1. Because the teacher had me put gum on my nose, I took revenge ON him by putting some transparent and liquid glue on his chair. So as soon as he sat down, he got stuck to his chair.

2. Because the teacher had me put gum on my nose, I took revenge AGAINST him...

In American English, I think both sound okay, but "take revenge on" or "get revenge on" would be more common when we are talking about something towards another person. "Take revenge against" would be better when talking about an institution or organization, as in the example from the free dictionary about the established government.

Stuck to and stuck on are both correct but to me have slightly different meanings. "stuck to" implies that something is really, physically stuck, for example with glue. "Stuck on" can be more figurative or based on a situation, not actually being stuck. For example, if my vehicle is in traffic for a really long time, I would not say "My car is stuck to the road." I would say "My car is stuck on the road."

Neither are correct. You would say I got my revenge. I got my revenge by putting some transparent and liquid glue on his chair.

You can say he got stuck to and he got stuck on his chair, both are correct.
