Is "Meng Qiaozhi" a he or she?
Hi everyone. I'm sending an application to a person named "Meng Qiaozhi". Problem is, I don't know if I should address them with "Dear Sir" or "Dear Madam".
I know that "Meng" is the surname. But:
- when I google "Qiaozhi", 99% of the pictures are those of females.
- a website I checked says it's a male's name.
- a Chinese friend of mine says he can't tell.
Any ideas? It's Important for me to know because this is an important application.I already called them twice asking about the name so I don't think I should call again, LOL.

This is the problem of using pinyin. Without the characters, it is impossible to tell. You can just write Dear Sir/Madam Meng...

Maybe you can put "Meng Qiaozhi" and some other possible key words together, such as "Meng Qiao zhi designer" and search them in Google to identif the gender.
