Are these sentences OK?
I'll go for a short walk. / I'll take a short walk.
It's a short walk from my house. / It's a short walk away from my house.

All of them are fine even the last one but i think it is more rare to hear it. Because of that, I think you should generally use the first three and not the last. To me the last one sounds like you are only walking in one direction (away from the house) without turning

The first three sentences are fine. The last sentence is not difficult to understand, but as a native speaker, I would not use "away" here. It doesn't sound natural to me. Hope that helps.
