If man evolved from monkeys and apes, Y do we still have monkeys and apes?

Actually, Darwin never said man evolved from apes. He did say that man and apes had a common ancestor someplace very far back in history (about a million years or so). Evolution happened because of changing climate and conditions in certain areas. Forests and jungles changed to grassland in many areas, giving any primates that walked an advantage. It gets complicated from there and all the pieces of the puzzle are not in place, but that, at least is the start. Apes and monkeys did not evolve probably because there were still jungles and trees where they were.

that would probably mean that Darwin's theory is a hoax! God created man in his own image and that He gave the highest authority to mankind to rule over other creation (including monkey!). :)

Good question, but it's a simplified idea. I always considered that humans and monkeys/apes had a "common ancestor" which evolved into he separate primates today. Now, it's a bit tricky to explain what what 'common ancestor' was like, when you only have its bones in place of later primates' bones, so the simple (and misleading) explanation is "monkeys and apes"...ie. something we can understand. So the moral is: don't believe everything you're told. Even by scientists. ;)
