Hi Safaa. Hemingway meant that in a situation where there is a lot of pressure, a courageous person retains his sense of style and manner and he doesn't just respond haphazardly and carelessly.

I suppose , this means that under pressure conditions and in bad situations , a brave man can handle the affairs and duties without any shortage in his braveness and self-confidence.
