This would be a more native translation from US English: "Je sais que tu évites le sucre mais je pense que tu vas aimer ces bonbons..."

I would say : "Je sais à quel point tu aimes(/préfères) éviter le sucre, mais j'ai pensé que tu voudrais goûter ces bonbons".
