What is the difference between "alignment" and "calibration" ? Thank you.

I give it a shot! Alignment: you align something, maybe forks and knifes at a dinner table. Calibration: it's a technical term. You calibrate i.e. a scale, or other measuring instrument, to make it accurate.

Alignment is the adjustment of something in relation with something else (i.e. the sun against the moon; the clock hands against the background etc)
