How to the word "tenuous"? It has so many meanings.
sorry. I meant how to use the word.

That's understandable, it's a difficult word and not used that often colloquially!
It means "weak" or "thin" or sometimes "loosely".
"The captain's control of the soldiers got even more tenuous" = The captain has not not great control over his men, and it gets even weaker.
"The characters' lives are tenuously interconnected." = The characters' lives are loosely connected.
