For how many years do normal japanese kids have to study until they can read every kanji?
Alright then... For how long do they need to study until they can read enough Kanji to read even the most difficult books.

Japanese elementary school kids learn about 1000 for 6 years.That's pretty enough for daily life, actually.
Then, middle school and high school students study(at least reading) another about 1000 for 6 years. Total about 2000 would be enough for college education and to pass JLPT level 1.

There is probably not a single Japanese alive who knows every kanji.

I'm not Japanese, I either speak it, But I think It's impossible to learn every single word in any language. Correct me if I'm wrong.
