is "ropa" countable or not? mucha ropa or muchas ropas?

Claro que la "ropa" es contable, tu puedes decir, "una docena de ropa", a pesar de que "mucha ropa " nos da la idea de una gran cantidad de ropa, nosotros decimos: ellos van a ir a lavar "mucha ropa " a la lavandería.

examples you can read by there:
"se quito la ropa y la dejó tirada en el suelo"
"se quito las ropas y las dejo tiradas en el suelo
The first sentence is written in current spanish and the other one you can read it in antigue texts.
