What is the difference between "episode" and "season"? Can you give an example.

Many episodes consist of a season in dramas. Like many dramas in America, they usually have a few seasons, that's something like a section. Such as Gossip girl, Prison break, Glee.

season contains episodes. for example you can watch the episode 3 of season 1 of a serie. A TV serie usually has 24 episodes in one season but the serie Merlin has two seasons and each season has 13 episodes.

Each Season of a TV series has many episodes. In the USA a season may approximately have between 12-24 episodes.
