Alright, it's not that we have no word for foot in Japanese but we usually do not distinguish a foot from a leg and call a body part under a torso as "ashi" in a lump.
However, we use different kanjis as appropriate, namely, 足 for a foot and 脚 for a leg (both pronounced "ashi") and we also use particular names for describing detailed parts of legs and feet.

Yes. In English we have the word foot, but I've always heard that in Japanese it is ashi, which can mean leg or foot.
So, is there no way to describe a foot in Japanese without pointing at it? I found a couple of words on a Japanese dictionary like, "futto", but I've never heard that word used.
