Should we use a singular or plural noun after the word "any"?

both we use any in questions and negative sentences is there any milk in the fridge? no, there isn't any milk. are there any apples in the fridge? no, there aren't any apples.

1. any + singular uncountable 2. any + plural countable. Simple!
