will be - when to use "wird sein" or "wird geben"
Here is an example in German:
Nächste Woche wird es Neuigkeiten von dunklerer Art geben
The English version of this text (from a book) is as follows:
Next week there will be news of a darker variety.
How do I know when to use geben instead of sein?
Thanks,

Hey there again:
there is = es gibt
there has been = es hat gegeben
there will be = es wird geben
(it will be = es wird sein)
Same question as last time, right?

Well, I think that the original question poster has mixed up between the terms "to be" (sein) and "there to be" (es geben).
In future sense, both of the above terms become "shall/will be" and "there will be", respectively. So, when converting them into German, they become "sein werden" and "es geben werden", and with the verb conjugation for the third person in singular, both terms become "(er/es/sie) wird sein" and "es wird geben", respectively.
For the given example, the English version shows: "Next week THERE WILL BE news ..." Hence, very obviously, this should be translated as "es wird geben" rather than "(er/es/sie) wird sein".
I think that the situation should be more clarified by now.

there is /there will be = es gibt /es wird geben
"Es gibt Ärger." /"Es wird Ärger geben."
(Nachrichten von dunklerer Art? - Halloween?)

That´s tricky, indeed. You use "be" and we use "geben". But in this special case the meaning of "geben" ist not "to give", rather "to happen". It dawns on you?
