When do I use this instad of "이 "? A. 이 뉴스에 대해서 기분이 어떠셨나요?) How do you feel about this news? B. 이번 뉴스에 대해서 어떻게 생각하세요? How do you think about this news? 이 is used like 'this' in English to point out something nearby in time or in distance. 이번 is translated as 'in/at/of this time' as opposed to 저번 "that time." So your example B can be translated into something like "What do you think about the news this time (or the news that has been mentioned recently)?"
