It means little piece of something:
"The boy left little bits of cookie in his bed."
"I swept up the broken glass, but there are still some little bits on the floor."
"I could only find little bits of information about my great-great-grandfather."

"little bits of"= small pieces/parts
Examples: I can only remember little bits[parts] of an old song
There are only some little bits [ pieces]of cake left for you.
