crumb - scrap - pittance - paltry (something insignificant)
Acho que isso dependeria do contexto.....
When referring to money then 'peanuts', 'a pittance' or 'a paltry amount' may be the best choice.
This company pays its workers peanuts.
This company pays its workers a pittance.
This company pays its workers a paltry sum (of money).
Your first example is of course 'bread crumbs'.
In english we also say: "a crumb of comfort" meaning a paltry amount of reassurance.
