what the difference between "spy" and "sneak"?

you can spy on someone whom you do not know but you have to sneak on someone whom you know.
spying can be done exposed while sneaking always have to be done secretly...

To spy means to see/watch someone without them knowing, usually while you're hiding and trying to see what they are doing and to sneak means for you to do something in secret because you don't want to get caught doing it.
