what SOS refers to?

Not only do people commonly use it for "save our ship" and "save our souls," it is also believed to mean "send out sailors." SOS is really just a way of remembering the international morse code distress signal, however, because 3 dits, 3 dahs, and 3 dits happens to translate to SOS.
