About the meaning of "opening night" ?
I know it refers to the first night that a new play, film etc is shown to the public. But when it refers to business (like stores, restaurants ..etc), it is about the day the business open.
My question is that is it necessarily that the event has to happen at night ?
Like .. On the opening night, the restaurant is offering .........brabrabra...

No, it's not necessary that it happen at night, although for plays, concerts and films, it usually will. Stores and businesses often open for the first time in the morning and call it their "grand opening."
