Is this sentence correct or incorrect? Putting a new window will involve cutting away part of the roof. What's the meaning of this sentence? Thank you in advance!

This sentence is correct but it would be better to say 'Putting in a new window...' The sentence means 'In order to make a new window you will need to remove part of the roof'.
