Although politics and diplomacy overlap, not all politics is diplomacy, and not all diplomacy is politics.
Politics is the name we give to a series of interactions involving how a state decides how to run its own affairs, as well as how states interact with one another. Diplomacy usually refers to the activities that agents of the state engage in with foreign entities on behalf of the state.
