Can I use the verb potray when speaking about things rather than people ?
In case no , what verb should be used instead handle/deal with/ describe ???
E.g.
The plots of scientific books potray cutting-edge devices and breakthrough discoveries appealingly.

Portray means to depict, show, represent or describe.
