What does "can't get around the good book" mean? It is a quote from the Texas chainsaw massacre

Hi there! Well, I think it may mean that one intends to be liked by someone to make the others treat him/her nicely. Therefore, “can’t get around good books” may mean the opposite. For example: I have never really bothered about being in teacher’s good books. ( it means that this student didn’t try to earn the teacher’s favor to be treated in a special and a nice way).

I might mean "we can't avoid the bible."
