Is the first speaker confused the verb "heed" v2 with head that sounds like "read" v2? Read (reed) read (red) read (red) Heed head head ?

https://youtu.be/JmJFm5hLb44 The first speaker is confused with what word to use, he was supposed to say "take heed" which means to pay attention to/ to listen to . He wanted them to listen to his instructions, because he is the safety officer who must keep them safe.
