Is there a specific word for 'favourite' in Italian or 'preferito' is the go to word? How to say 'it is my favourite' or 'favourite of all times' or 'what is your favourite food?'

preferito, is the word you are looking for.
in Italian It's my favourite will be translates as "è il mio preferito"
favourite of all times - il preferito di tutti i tempi
what is your favourite food - qual è il tuo cibo preferito . even though in Italian we often use piatto preferito (favourite dish/meal) rather then cibo preferito.
the word favorito can also been used, but is definitely less common.
