De-stress is more common in conversational English.

Yes, usually. Especially in written form. But there is a subtle difference.
"Relieve stress" is often used as a euphemism for "adult" behavior, because "relief" relates to fluids, so "de-stress" is much better for most professional situations where you don't want anyone to feel awkward.
