What does the highlighted text mean? Does it mean 'seal shut religions, not allowing religions?

I agree with others, I am sure it is a misprint for "zeal." "Religious zeal" is a colocation, a very common phrase. "Religious seal" is a strange, rare expression and I don't even know what it could mean. "Zeal" means "energetic, enthusiastic devotion to a cause." To "embrace capitalism with an almost religious zeal" means to treat capitalism almost like a religion.

Rosco is right. It's a typographical error and should be 'zeal'.
