Hello! What is the difference when I say “I typed in my number” and “I punched in my number”?

They mean the same thing. Saying you punched in your number is a reference to older machines that used mechanical inputs and actually created holes in cards when certain keys were pressed. These older machines are called "key punches." Now, we don't use those machines anymore so most native speakers find it much more natural to say "I typed in my number," but saying you punched something in is still okay.
