I cannot write poetry but I can offer some grammatical suggestions.
I suggest that you try to use more active verbs (subject + verb) and avoid passive voice.
For instance, "Fatigue overcame me" is simpler and more powerful than I was overcome by fatigue.
"I push ahead and cannot give up" is stronger than "I keep going and I can't stop" because "push" is an active verb and "going" is just an adjective.
If you want, you can use chatGPT to help you do this. For example, for #2, you can type the following: Please show me some examples of ways to rewrite "I keep going and I can't stop" using active verbs and no present participles.
If the answers that chatGPT gives you contain present participles, fight back. Say: "Sorry that's not what I wanted. Your examples use present participles. Please try again."
#3 and #4 contain two more present participles. Try typing this into chatGPT:
The following sentence contains three present participles, "going", "being", and "reaching". Would you please rewrite it using active verbs only and no present participles:
"I keep going in the hopes of being a champion and reaching first place".
It gave me a nice answer:
"I persist with the hope that I will be a champion and reach first place."
I'm not recommending that you try to let chatGPT write poetry for you, but it throws out many suggestions and might come up occasional ideas that will work for you.
