How is the sound 'ng' pronounced? I.e. in sing, ring and gerund verbs forms. I am upper-intermediate and a while ago had unexpectedly realised that I am always saying 'g' when there is a vowel sound after 'ng'. For example 'singing' should be pronounced as ˈsɪŋɪŋ, but I am always getting [singin] (the last sound is nearer to the required one, but I amsure that g can't be there). Or can? In fast speaking English is it pronounced just as n or ng maybe?

The ‘ing’ should be said clearly. Ending the word with ‘in’ is informal or uneducated sounding. Pronunciation attached: Sing singing Play playing Walk walking Eat eating Talk talking Cut cutting

Pronouncing it as -in is perfectly fine and understandable though! It’s really common in the US, and that’s how I usually pronounce it anyway. I don’t think most native speakers wouldn’t notice the difference too, it’s pretty normal
