I've found an English language organization and signed up as a learner. But they sent me an Email and said "we're unable to serve you because you live outside of the US". I've no idea, then I signed up as a teacher. I got a learner after the interview.
During a lesson, the coordinator asked us to repeat what we heard from a video for the learner. The other teacher repeated it since she is a native speaker but I couldn't. The coordinator had to repeat it many times for me. And he asked me how to help the learner take notes. I said I have no idea.
And I realized there are learners who live outside of the US. Yesterday I told another teacher the story. She was also bemused as she said there are a lot of learners who live outside of the US. I said, "Indeed, for example, yesterday's learner lives in Thailand." She said, "Indeed."
