Community Tutor¿ Cuándo se usa "se" en Español?
.Reflexive pronoun: "Se" is used to indicate that the subject of the verb is also the object, reflecting the action back onto itself. For example: "Juan se lava las manos" (Juan washes his hands).
.Reciprocal pronoun: "Se" is used to express actions that two or more people perform on each other. For example: "María y Pedro se abrazan" (María and Pedro hug each other).
.Impersonal pronoun: "Se" is used to form impersonal constructions, where the subject is not specified or is indefinite. For example: "Se dice que va a llover" (It is said that it is going to rain).
.Passive voice: "Se" is used to form the passive voice in Spanish. It indicates that the subject is receiving the action rather than performing it. For example: "El libro se vendió rápidamente" (The book was sold quickly).
.Inherent reflexive: In some verbs, "se" is used as an inherent reflexive pronoun, meaning it is part of the verb's meaning. For example: "irse" (to leave), "quejarse" (to complain).
