Does the expression have the meaning 'what interests me is that…' in English?

First of all, that's not really a common expression in English. More context is needed to be able to tell with any certainty what is being expressed. What were the words that came before and after that?
A more common expression would be to say something is in "in my best interest", which means it would benefit me.
