I think for multiplication we say "times" for instance 2x2=4 it could be two times two equals four. You could look for some videos about math in order to listen how the talk about this, I'm a mathematician (almost 🤭) and I follow some American teachers just for know how they talk and the words that they use.

1/4 * 8 = 2 would be "one-fourth times eight is (equal to) two" 4.6/2 = 2.3 would be "four point six divided by two is (equal to) two point three"

I would say the word for all this is arithmetic.

For example, 2 plus 2 equals 4.

+ is addition, - (minus): subtraction, ➗- division, and x is multiplication :)
