Hi italki community,
I am writing a poem in English and would like to know whether these lines make sense:
It resents every essence
Of your ready stance.
Thank you!

You are right to question whether or not the sentence makes sense.
“Of your ready stance” is odd, but comprehensible. As far as “it resents”, it seems to me like an attempt to translate the French “ressentir” (English “to feel [strongly affected by]”), but the English word “to resent” has a different meaning entirely: “to feel bitterness (at someone / something).
Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the final poem!

Sounds good to me :) With certain types of poetry it's also fine to be a bit more lax with grammar and syntax rules.
