Hi everyone,
If I write "I don't like this kind of books" (e.g. some novels) on google docs it offers to change "books" to "book". Why isn't it correct? There are different types of books such as science fiction, detective stories, etc. And by "books" here I mean books in generel (lots of different books with different genres)

Hello Iakov,
'this kind' is singular, so it must refer to book.
The plural would be 'these kinds' i.e. 'these kinds of books'.
You are refering to 'a kind' /'a type' / 'a genre'.
I hope this makes sense. It was a great question!

I agree with Victoria's answer.
The difference between "this" and these" relates to the quantity of the noun.
Also, we pronounce "these" like "theeeeezzzz" xaxaxaxa
Удачи!
