Tina
Hey everyone!
I’m wondering how you pronounce “ti” in English. Is it like “tea” or like the ti- in tiger or time?
Appreciate your help!

Hi Tina,
As a nickame for yourself? I would say Ti /tiː/ like in tea /tiː/
Hope that helps!

It’s usually short I (tip), long I (time) or ‘sh’ (nation).
But it can also be long E (Tina, spaghetti). This is for words which come or appear to come from Latin based languages.

It really depends on the word. Sometimes it's one of the sounds you described. Most of the the time it's the 'short i' sound:
Kit, tick, bit, wit , etc.
If you're German, it's probably the same, i.e. ich, bin, usw.

It depends on the word:
Tip, tick, still = ich
Time, stripe = ein
Something that could be useful though is the Magic E rule:
If you have consonant, vowel, consonant and then E the vowel is usually pronounced the same as the letter.
Here are some examples:
A > rat ---> rAte
E > pet --> pEte
I > bit --> bIte
O > not --> nOte
U > cut --> cUte
