It is not about choosing the student, it is about choosing the right method to teach a student

As a new teacher here, I haven't yet had many lesson requests so this question hadn't really occurred to me. I would accept any student beyond beginner level and in future would only refuse requests from someone if they were rude or cancelled lessons without notice. Or possibly if the student had learning goals that I felt I wouldn't be able to help them reach.
