18/365 An earthquake suddenly happened in Melbourne in the morning. My house kind of shaked for about 10 seconds while I was talking to my wife. We had no idea what was happening at that moment. My wife wrongly thought hundreds of rats were biting our house's foundation base. She even run out to check it in the backyard. Luckily, the earthquake just lasted a short time and didn't destroy anything of our house. Actually, the first thing that we should take action to do immediately was to run out of the house and stay in an open place when the earthquake occurred. After a while, the news said it was a magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred in a less populated regional area.

I left the word 'biting' but I think the word 'chewing' would be better. A bite is just one time, but chewing is a process that can last a while. 'Region' and 'area' are somewhat synonymous so it is repetitive to use both. I am glad that you and your wife are safe.
