In the sentence "Although she often spoke to university audiences, she seldom spoke to business groups," spoke seems to be redundant.
Can it be replaced with "did"?
"Although she often spoke to university audiences, she seldom did to business groups."
Some says "did to" is not grammatically correct, but I don't get why not, given that "did" simply replaces "spoke."

Personally, I would add 'so'.
... she seldom did so to business groups.
