hello, the question is about the specific name of your paper at your university for getting your Bachelor's or Master's degree IN THE UK - do you call this 'final research paper' 'thesis' or 'dissertation'? I was trying to figure it out reading the article - https://www.document-centre.co.uk/whats-the-difference-between-a-thesis-and-a-dissertation/, but still feel uncertain....

I'm from the UK and, in my experience, people doing an undergraduate or Master's course call this piece of writing their dissertation. People doing PhDs talk about their thesis. There may be variations across courses or institutions but I'd say the Bachelor's/Master's v PhD distinction is broadly true.

"Research project." šŸ˜‚ That was the name given by our professor back in the day. The euphemisms intensify.

I think "Bachelor's/Master's Thesis" will do. Here's a definition from Collins Dictionary which is a UK site. 2. A thesis is a long piece of writing based on your own ideas and research that you do as part of a university degree, especially a higher degree such as a PhD. - He was awarded his PhD for a thesis on industrial robots. Synonyms: dissertation, paper, treatise, essay
