1. Pronunciation and tones
1.1 Tutor uses text with Pinyin to explain pronunciation and the 5 tones, student practice single character with tones.
1.3 Student to read the text, tutor makes sure the pronunciation and tones are correct.
1.4 Extra vocabulary for the text. e.g. 英国人(+中国人,法国人, …), 英语 (+德语, 法语, …)
2. Characters & words
2.1 Strokes: Tutor gives short introduction, provides links to stroke list and animation for self-reading and self-practice.
2.2 Character structure: Tutor gives short introduction to character types, provides link to Chinese character classification for self-reading.
2.3 Tutor explains 2 of the 6 character types: Pictograph and phono-semantic with examples.
2.3.1 Pictograph examples: 日,月,山,雨,火,… (with link to images)
2.3.2 Phono-semantic examples: 妈, 吗,码,蚂,…
3. Introduce radicals
1) radical 人 : 你,他,住,们,…
2) radical 女 : 妈,她, …
3) radical 言: 说,语 …
4. Pronouns: 你, 您,我, 他,她,它,我们,你们,他们,她们,它们
