Reason why children should look after an animal
It is well known that most children, between the ages of 6 and 9, want to have a pet.
The problem is that they do not know that having a pet is a big job and a big
responsibility. Therefore, it is important that children learn to look after an animal.
In the first place, one of the advantages of caring of a pet is that it can help children to
grow as people. It could make them more empathetic, friendly and responsible. In
other words, animals will be like friends to them. They will have fun together in happy
moments, but they will also support each other when they will be sad.
In the same way, looking after an animal can also benefit children physically. They will
play with their pets in many different ways. For example, they can play with a ball
inside the house or on the contrary, they can go for a walk in the park. So, this will
prevent them from spending a lot of time playing videogames. Additionally, studies
show that playing with pets can enhance creativity.
To sum up, there are a lot of reasons for kids to learn to look after an animal. However,
it is evident that the most important issue is the personal growth. This development of
personal skills and competences will help them greatly in their future.
