Community TutorHi! What does it mean “now I know who carries the guns in the family?” Does it have the similar meaning as the expression “to wear the pants”? Thanks you in advance!

I’m not surprised you’re unsure about this. I’ve never heard of this saying ever.
I think your logic is correct though. I would make the same presumption. It is in no way a common saying, at least in the UK.
I’ve also never heard any of my American friends use this idiom.

Hi Marina! Is there a chance for me to practice French with you? We seem to have approximately the same level and it would be only fitting for us to exercise basic conversation in the language. I had been attending ‘Institut français’ here, in Saint-Petersburg, before the lockdown came into force and at this moment I barely have a chance to advance my knowledge any further. If you don’t mind having a small talk with me - drop me a message!
