1. You are attending to get cross examined
2. the correct grammar is "attend a cross examination" and this can be either or. Either you are attending and but nothing will be done to you or you are attending and something will be done with you. But mostly you're just a bystander

Without context, it is hard to be more certain, but perhaps something like this:

#2 You are a witness
